(It is 3999. An artificial planetoid, Micawber's World, is...)
It is 3999. An artificial planetoid, Micawber's World, is hosting the intergalactic Olympic Games, and athletes from all the worlds in the Galactic Federation are arriving to take part. But when the Doctor and Sam arrive, the murders soon begin. The Doctor finds himself drafted in to examine some bizarre new drugs that claim to enhance the natural potential of the competing athletes. But what is their real purpose? Why are members of the Security Forces disappearing randomly? And just why is Chase Carrington, manufacturer of the drug, so protective of his company's secrets? Watching and waiting, at the very heart of Micawber's World, are a race of parasites the Doctor has fought before. The Wirrrn have come to the Milky Way from Andromeda, determined to spread their seed throughout a whole new galaxy, and it seems to Sam that the Doctor's hands are too full to pay their threat full attention. This is another in the series of adventures featuring the 8th Doctor and Sam which reintroduces the Wirrrn from the 1975 television adventure The Ark in Space.

(An original novel featuring the Second Doctor, Ben and Po...)
An original novel featuring the Second Doctor, Ben and Polly. 'Explode the buoys? But that will destroy the Earth!' 'Oh dear, so it will. Pass on my apologies to the humans, won't you?' Earth has been invaded. Twice. Thousands of years ago by a race searching for a new power source. More recently by the galactic marauders known as the Cat-People, who intend to continue the work done by the earlier visitors, with devastating results. The recently regenerated Doctor, along with companions Ben and Polly, teams up with a group of amateur ghost-hunters and a mysterious white witch on a journey that takes them from twentieth-century Cumbria to the Arabian deserts of folklore and Australia 40,000 years in the past. Can the Doctor stop the invaders and disarm the bombs left buried beneath the planet's surface - or have the ancient Aborigines of Australia sung the seeds of their own destruction? This adventure takes place between the television stories The Power of the Daleks and The Highlanders. Gary Russell, author of the Doctor Who New Adventure Legacy, is Group Editor of Marvel Comics' award-winning Doctor Who Magazine. He also adores cats and has spent much of his time while writing this story apologizing to his own felines for portraying them as vicious, warmongering baddies.

(An original novel featuring the Third Doctor, Liz Shaw an...)
An original novel featuring the Third Doctor, Liz Shaw and UNIT. 'And what exactly, Doctor Shaw, do you think C19 does with the dead bodies of plastic dummies, reptile men, primordial throwbacks and all their human victims?' A little boy goes missing; a policewoman begins drawing cave paintings; and the employees at the mysterious Glasshouse are desperate to keep everyone away - the Doctor suspects it's all down to a group of homo reptilia. His assistant, Liz Shaw, has ideas of her own and has teamed up with a journalist to search for people who don't exist. While the Brigadier has to cope with UNIT funding, the breakdown of his marriage and Geneva's threats to replace him, the Doctor must find the reptiles alone. And behind it all lies a conspiracy to exploit UNIT's achievements - a conspiracy reaching deep into the heart of the British Government. This adventure takes place between the television stories Inferno and Terror of the Autons and immediately after the Missing Adventure The Eye of the Giant. Gary Russell enjoys plagiarising other authors' creations, particularly the reptilian ones (creations, not authors). He used to edit Doctor Who Magazine but now tries to use a PlayStation for Emap Images. This book doesn't feature any of his cats, but some reptiles are users of the rec.arts.drwho Internet site.
