Gasho Kishimoto was the first student from Ryukyus (Loo-choo Island) to be sent to Japan for education on a Government scholarship. After graduating from Keio University and returning home was elected to the Japanese Diet as a member from the Ryukyus (1912).
Career
Gasho Kishimoto was director of Okinawa Electric Co., Okinawa Industrial Bank, etc. He was also once Mayor of Naha.
