Her book The Crosses of Auschwitz: Nationalism and Religion in Post-Communist Poland (University of Chicago Press, 2006,, 277pp) earned her several awards, including the "AAASS and Orbis Books Outstanding Book Award in Polish Studies", American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies (2007), "Distinguished Book Award", Sociology of Religion Section, American Sociological Association (2007), and "Biennial Kulczycki Book Prize", Polish Studies Association (2008).
