My Life in Russia is a story told by a senior about the former Soviet Union during the period of 1927 to 1989. It's actually an autobiography told in a way that the reader can understand and get an idea of what life was like for millions of people under the Communist regime in Russia. Though personal, it also reflects the economy, political situation, private life of some families’ traditions, and what people went through in Russia. The main idea of the book is to let the readers know how the main character went through tragedies in her native country to triumph in the USA.
