Geoffrey Gove received his Bachelor of Arts in Film from San Francisco State College in 1967. He also took graphic arts and photography courses at New York University in 1971, 1973 and 1976.
Geoffrey Gove has been a freelance photographer since 1970. From 1972 to 1976 he did freelance photo research for Magnum, Photo Trends, Appleton- Century and other companies. Geoffrey Gove was a photo editor/researcher for Grolier Publishing in 1970-1971 and a photo editor for Pageant magazine in 1968-1969.
Since 1973 Geoffrey Gove has worked with refracted- light photography, based mainly on objective imagery, and in 1974 began to experiment with the color Xerox process, especially with black-and-white to color conversions. He has also made a film, the 16mm documentary short Squadron 74, in 1967.
