Career

Hunt first came to prominence as a 17-year-old in the 1953 Open Championship. Originally an assistant at Atherstone he moved to Hartsbourne in 1954.

Achievements

• Rounds of 74 and 74 put him a good position after two days although he faded on the final day with rounds of 79 and 86, The following year he won the Gor-Ray Cup, the leading tournament for assistant professionals. His brother Bernard had won the cup the previous year.
