731 pages, 36 illustrations, a classic in paediatrics by STILL, Sir George Frederick (1868-1941) Born in London and educated at Cambridge, he started his career as house physician at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He published On a form of chronic joint disease in Children when he was a registrar in 1896. He confined his practice to diseases of children and is considered by some as the founder of pediatrics in England. His Common Disorders and Diseases of Childhood was published in 1909. STILL DISEASE Chronic arthritis in childhood. Described by Andre Victor Cornil (1837-1898), a physician at Paris in 1864 and Sir George Frederick Still (1868-1941) in 1896. Still's article, A form of chronic joint disease in Children (1896), discussed 22 cases of the disease. Chauffard of Paris described the same condition shortly after Still.
