He was born in Eveleth, Minnesota. Abramson played his college football at the University of Minnesota and played nine professional games with the Green Bay Packers in 1925. Abramson (known as George Abrahamson in his childhood) lived in Aurora, Minnesota from at least 1910 until his graduation from Aurora, Minnesota High School in 1920.
