He migrated to the U. S. and shortly after his arrival in this country established a residence in Chicago. Mr. Beaumont began work as a draftsman, and after a period of employment as Superintendent of Construction for Wheeler & Clay, in 1886 established his own office in the city.
He served seven years as Secretary of the Chapter, and after one term as Treasurer, was elected to the office of President, and continued in that office two years. Also he was one of the founders and a past president of the Chicago Sketch Club.
An early associate of the American Institute of Architects, and elected to Fellowship in 1889, Mr. Beaumont was a charter member of the Illinois Chapter and an active participant in its affairs.
