BODY, George was born on January 7, 1840 in Cheriton Fitzpaine, Devonshire.

Education

Studied at Blundell’s School, Tiverton. Saint John's College, Cambridge (Master of Arts). Honourable Doctor of Divinity Durham, 1885.

Doctor of Divinity.

Career

Rector of Kirkby-Misperton, Yorkshire, 1870-1884. Proctor in Convocation of York for Cleveland, 1880-1885. Foreign Durham Chapter, 1906.

Select preacher, Cambridge, 1892-1894-1896-1900-1904-1906.

Lecturer, Pastoral Theology, University of Cambridge, 1897. Warden of the Community, et cetera, of the Epiphany, diocese of Truro, 1891-1905.

Vice-President of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel. Canon of Durham since 1883.
