In New York, George entered to the office of Cass Gilbert for a period of architectural training, later served for more than a decade as head-draftsman in the office, and Mr. Gilbert's associate on a number of his works. One of the buildings was St. Peter's Hospital at Helena. On completion of the plans, Mr. Carsley went to Montana to supervise the construction, subsequently decided to remain in Helena and open his own office. Mr. Carsley was an architect of the Gymnasium at the State University at Missoula in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States and served as Consultant on other buildings erected on the Campus.
