Educated University of Alabama. Served private to captain, 11th Alabama regiment in C. South. A., 1861-1865. Wounded at Gaines’ Mill, 1862, Gettysburg, 163, and Ream’s Station, 1864.
Studied law with his hather after war. Admitted to bar, 1866. Removed to Texas, January, 1867.
Practiced at Weatherford until December, 1868.
After that at Waco. Secretary of State, Texas, 1874. Attorney-general, 1874-1876.
Commissioner on revision of statutes to 1878. Judge Court of Appeals, 1879-1880.
