Bloxham, Banbury, Oxford. Assisted at salvage operations at Ferrol on board His Majesty’s Ship Howe in 1893. Australia in His Majesty’s Ship Karrakatta, 1894-1897.
Career
Served China, 1900 (Companion of the Distinguished Service Order). Decorated for service with Royal Marines during Admiral Seymour’s retreat to Tientsin, and for mounting 4-inch guns at Tientsin afterwards, and present at taking of native city. Companion of the Distinguished Service Order 1900; Engineer Commander Royal Navy; son of Doctor E. Cockey, Frome, Somerset.
