George M. Craven was educated at Ohio University (Bachelor of Fine Arts, 1953; Master of Fine Arts, 1958) and received a diploma from the Radio-Film-TV Institute at Stanford University in 1964.
Since 1967 George M. Craven has been professor of photography at De Anza College in Cupertino. From 1962 to 1967 he held the same title at Foothill College. He was an instructor at Everett Community College in Washington, 1960-1962, and at Massachusetts College of Art, 1958-1960. George M. Craven taught in England during 1969 under a Fulbright Exchange Grant, and he received Foot- hill-De Anza Professional Recognition Awards in 1971, 1974, 1977 and 1980.
