He graduated with a Bachelor of Surgery in Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1962. He received his Master of Surgery in Engineering in 1964 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics in 1966, both from Brown University.
He served as the chief executive officer and chairman of Eastman Kodak Company from 1993 to 2000. Prior to joining Kodak, Fisher worked at Motorola, Incorporated. from 1976 to 1993 and was named president and chief executive officer in 1988 and chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1990.
