George Robert Bayne Giles was a New Zealand track and road cyclist, and one of New Zealand"s leading track cyclists of the 1930s who held several national titles 1936-1938; the national sprint, time trial third time in succession, and 10-mile title.
Career
He was born in Christchurch where he worked in a cycle shop, then as a barman at a hotel.
Achievements
He represented New Zealand at the 1936 Summer Olympics at Berlin and at the 1938 British Empire Games at Sydney where he won the bronze medal in the men"s sprint.
