Public schools and by private tutors. Came to the United States, May 28, 1866. Moved to Omaha, Nebraska, 1867, engaged in active business until 1896.

Career

Member Nebraska House of Representatives, 1887-1889. Company treasurer Douglas Company, 1896-1900. Consul-general at Samoa, 1901-1906, consul, 1906-1908.

Consul at Berne, Switzerland, May 1, 1908-June, 1914. Formerly lived at Omaha, Nebraska*.
