Career
He served in the Royal Air Force during National Service and was stationed at Ballykelly in Northern Ireland & Royal Air Force Cosford and was a PTI. He also played for the Royal Air Force team Hutchinson was born in Allerton Bywater, West Yorkshire, the son of a miner who worked at the local colliery.
