George Arthur MILLS, British General Officer. Served in Gibraltar, Ceylon, Egypt, India, Beluchistan, and South Africa, 1899-1902 (despatches four times, Queen’s medal, live clasps, King’s medal, two clasps, C.B.).

Studied at Clifton College.
Career
Gazetted to Royal Madras Fusiliers (102nd), 1873. A. District of Columbia (United States.) to General Officer Commanding Ceylon, 1879- 1882. Captain, 1880; Egyptian Army and served in Egypt, 1885-1887.
Major 1st Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 1888. Lieutenant-‘Colonel, 1898. Lieutenant-Colonel commanding 1st Bn.
Royal Dublin Fusiliers till 1902. Served with 1st Bn. during South African War, 1899-1902. Severely wounded (left hand and arm disabled) at the battle of Alleman’s Nek, 1900 (despatches four times).
Commanded No. XI. District, 1906-1910. Retired 1910.
Served in Gibraltar, Ceylon, Egypt, India, Beluchistan, and South Africa, 1899-1902 (despatches four times, Queen’s medal, live clasps, King’s medal, two clasps, Companion of the Bath). C. B. 1900.
