In 1920-1927, George headed the church community of Johannits in Ukraine. From 1927, he lived in Leningrad. From 1929, he served as a priest in Enakievo (now Donetsk region of Ukraine). In 1930, George was unjustly repressed in the so-called case of "Buivtsi".
