George Oliver born in Pontypool, was a Welsh dual-code international rugby union and professional rugby league football player of the 1910s and "20s, playing representative level rugby union for Wales, and at club level for Talywain Reconstruction Finance Corporation, Pill Harriers Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and Pontypool Reconstruction Finance Corporation, as a Lock, id est (that is) number 4 or 5, and playing representative level rugby league for Wales, and at club level for Hull, and Pontypridd, as a prop, or hooker, id est (that is) number 8 or 10, or 9, during the era of contested scrums, he died in Pontypool.
