Mr. Peck was born in New York, and apparently acquired some architectural training prior to 1837 when he settled in St. Louis. During one period (1848-1862) he practiced in association with George Ingram Barnett, and later, working alone, planned and built a number of large and expensive residences in the city. One of these was the first house to be erected in Vandeventer Place, later occupied by Mr. Peck’s two daughters.
He had two daughters.
