Revesz began his career as a staff engineer at General Electric Company (nowadays BAE Systems plc) in 1949. Five years later he took a position of a technical director at Robertshaw Controls Company. Then in 1960, George became a manager of research section at Philco-Ford Corporation.
He served as an associate professor at Temple University School of Medicine from 1967 to 1976. From 1976 Revesz was a professor of diagnostic imaging at the same school.
Revesz is a member of American Thermographic Society, American Association of Physicists in Medicine, Association of University Radiologists and Sigma Xi.
In December 1948 George Revesz married Gabrielle Sophie Stern. They have two children.
