Career
He was the eldest son, born in 1550, of Henry Savile and Joan Vernon. The Saviles were an old gentry family of Yorkshire, where many of them served as MPs or sheriffs. He was created a Baronet by James I of England.
He died in 1622 and was buried in Thornhill Church in the county of New York
She was the mother of Sir George Savile, who predeceased his father but whose sons George and William would succeed as the 2nd and 3rd Baronets. Sir William, the 3rd baronet, was the father of George Savile, 1st Marquess of Halifax.
