Career

Secretary pro tem Colony of Connecticut, 1730-1734, secretary, 1734-1796. Town clerk Hartford, 1732-1796. Commissioned captain Connecticut Militia, 1738, served as lieutenant colonel in French and Indian War, 1757.

Unsympathetic with policy of separation from England, 1775-1776.
