He was born on the Greek Island of Kos and studied with Kiki Vlachou in Athens.

He went on to study with L. Guarrini and Ettore Campogalliani in Milan, and J. Hauschild and H. Arnold in Munich. He sang as a soloist in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, and England. He performed as Rodolfo in Louisiana bohème between 1967 and 1973, which he sang 38 times in Germany.
In 1974, he was engaged by the Greek National Opera.
He taught in the major conservatories of Athens. Together, they had two children (Alexios and Lydia).
