EBERLY, George Agler was born on February 9, 1871 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States. Son of John and Mary (Agler) Eberly.

Education

University of Michigan, 1892, Bachelor of Laws. Master of Laws, 1893.

Career

Since 1873; admitted to bar, 1893. County attorney, Stanton County, 1899-1903, 1905-1909. Appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Nebraska for term, 1925-1931, elected for terms, 1931-1937 and 1937-1943.

Retired from Supreme Court Bench, January 7, 1943. Sergeant Spanish-American War, May 15-September 11, 1898. Successively captain, major and colonel Nebraska National Guard, 1902-1917.

Commander 4th Nebraska Infantry, Mexican border service, 1916-1917. Appointed colonel Infantry, United States.R.C., February, 1917. Ordered to active duty, O.T.C., May 5, 1917.

Served as colonel infantry, O.R.C. and major N.A. until December 3, 1918.
