DESSAULLES, George Casimir was born on September 29, 1827 in Saint Hyacintlie, Province of Quebec. Son of Honourable Jean Dessaulles, Member of the Legislative Council of Lower Canada, and of Rosalie, daughter of Joseph Papineau, notary, Montreal, and only sister of Honourable Louis Joseph Papineau.

Elected to the City Council of Saint Hyacintlie, 1858. Mayor, 1868, and continuously held the Mayoralty, except for a break of six years, until 1898. Member Legislative Assembly of Quebec, 1897.
