Illustrator for various magazines and books Commissioned by McClure’s to visit Mont Pelee at time of destruction of Saint Pierre, and in company with George Kennan and Professor Angelo Heilprin was first to reach the crater at top of the mountain. Witnessed three eruptions of the mountain and was almost destroyed by one.
Accompanied Ray Stannard Baker to Europe and made illustrations for his book, “Seen in Germany”.
Also illustrated George Kennan’s, “The Tragedy of Pelee.” Exhibited at Paris Salon, 1907. Republican.
