Entered Signal Corps United States of America, at Washington, 1880. Transferred to Weather Bureau, 1891. Stationed various places in North Dakota, Montana, Oregon, San Francisco, Seattle, Olympia.
Assistant forecaster, San Francisco, 1898-1913.
In charge San Francisco office and South. Pacific Coast Forecast District, September 1, 1913-June 30, 1917, also director California Climatological Service. Assistant to the district forecaster in charge Pacific Coast District, 1917-1925, climatologist, 1926-1932, retired.
