Traveling salesman for various jewelry concerns, 1879-1889. Settled in Kansas City, Missoury, 1889. as secretary S. D. Mills Jewelry Company. Title changed to Edwards & Sloane Jewelry Company, 1892, now Edwards-Ludwig-Fuller Jewelry Company, of which is president.

President Mercantile Bank, 1912-1915 until consolidated with Commerce Trust Company, of which is director.
