George Ralph Meyer, American army officer. Decorated Officer of Order of Leopold II (Belgian). K. of Commerce. Served in Hawaii during World War and with A.F.G. in Germany at the base in Antwerp, returning to the United States in October 1920.

Meyer, George Ralph was born on November 27, 1886 in Montgomery, Minnesota, United States. Son of Christian Wendlyn and Ellen Loretta (Carroll) Meyer.

Education

Student University of Minnesota 1904-1905. Bachelor of Science, United States Naval Academy, 1910. Graduated from Command and General staff schedul, 1925, United States Army War College, 1935, United States Naval War College, 1936.

Career

Midshipman, resigned from Navy, March 1911. Second in command Lieutenant, Coast Artillery corpus, United States army, Aug 1911, and advanced through the grades to brigadier general, August 1941, and major general, April 2, 1943.
