Bartch, George Washington was born on March 15, 1849 in Dushore, Pennsylvania, United States. Son of John G. and Mary Magdalene Bartch.

Education

Master of Science, Bloomsburg (Pennsylvania) State Normal School, 1871 and 1879.

Career

Superintendent schools, Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, 1874-1884. Practiced law at Bloomsburg, 1884-1886, Cañon City, Colorado, 1886-1888, Salt Lake City, 1888-1889. Probate judge, Salt Lake Company, 1889-1893.

Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Utah Ty., 1893-1895, State Supreme Court, 1895-1906 (chief justice, 1899-1900, 1905-1906). Resigned October 1, 1906, to resume practice of law, including, also, international law.
