Burr, George Washington was born on December 3, 1865 in Tolono, Illinois, United States. Son of George W. and Nancy (Scott) Burr.


Graduated from the United States Military Academy, 1888.


Commissioned Second lieutenant 1st Artillery, June 11, 1888. Promoted through grades to colonel, July 1, 1916. Brigadier general (temporary), August 6, 1918.
