Career

Ordained by Presbytery of St. Laurence, 1819. Principal founder, head Oneida Institute, Whitesboro, New York (where 1st college students payed for instruction by doing manual labor) 1827-1844. A founder Town of Galesburg, (Illinois), 1st pastor local church.

A founder Knox College, 1837, trustee, 1837-1861, acting professor langs., 1837-1842, professor moral philosophy and belles-lettres, 1843-1857.
