Andrews, George Whitfield was born on January 19, 1861 in Wayne, Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States. Son of Melanchthon Zuinglius and Augusta Caroline (Cathcart) Andrews.

Education

Educational public schools, Oberlin. Graduate Oberlin Conservatory of Music, 1879, Museum Bac., 1906. Honorary Master of Arts, Oberlin College, 1900, Museum Doctor, 1903.

Studied in Europe, 1884-1886, 1898-1899.

Career

Teacher organ and composition, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, since 1883. Concert organist, since 1876(still active). Orchestral and choral conductor, since 1892.

Organist at Congressional Church, Oberlin, since 1883. Conductor Oberlin Musical Union until 1929.
