Entered C.S.A. April 30, 1861, as private in Company C, 9th Virginia Cavalry. Advanced to First lieutenant. Commanded company 2 campaigns.
Was wounded twice, in battles of Reams Station and Hatcher’s Run. ordained Baptist ministry, October 18, 1868.
