Settled in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, 1879, and began as teller National Bank of LaCrosse same year, president, 1905-1931, Chairman of the Board, 1931-1933 (retired). President and trustee Burr & Burton Seminary. Vice-president and treasurer Pettibone Park Commission.

Director LaCrosse Industrial Association. Treasurer and vice president La Crosse Public Library.
