Had charge of metallurgical works in Ireland, 1863-1864. Engaged as mining engineer in Colorado, 1864-1867. Professor mining and metallurgy, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1868-1872, also construction engineering to various iron and steel works.
Construction engineering for iron, steel and copper works in England and Germany, 1873-1879.
Consultant mining and metallurgical engineer, since 1879. Has had charge of construction of various mills and reduction plants in Ireland, Colorado, Russia, et cetera
Aided in the development of the Thomas Basic Steel Process in England and introduced it in the United States and finally sold it to the Bessemer Association Home: New York, New York Deceased.
