Georgiy KAYTUKOV, USSR Ossetian poet, children's writer and translator. Philosopher; instructor in the principles of Marxism-Leninism, North Ossetian Pedagogical Institute, Ordzhonikidze, since 1936; board member, Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic Union of Writers, since 1959. Order of Red Banner of Labor, 1960.

Background

KAYTUKOV, Georgiy was born in 1911 in village Khod, Northern Ossetia.

Education

Graduated Lit. Faculty, North Ossetian Pedagogical Inst. 1936 completed postgrad, philosophy course at Moscow Institute of Philosophy, Literature and History.

Career

Has translated into Ossetian works by Pushkin, e. g., “Eugene Onegin”, Lermontov, Nekrasov, Shevchenko, Mayakovsky, etc. 1958 delegation at 1st Constituent Congress Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Writers. 1959 delegation at 3rd Congress of USSR Writers.
