Quotations:
"As a reading teacher, I wanted to write a story that would 'hook' the reader, while presenting accurate history as the background. Much to my delight, adults, as well as youngsters, have enjoyed Looking for Pa. It is an exciting read-aloud book for parents and teachers alike. Calling upon my years of teaching experience, I prepared a teacher's guide to accompany this novel, making it an excellent addition to any school's American history study."
"Traveling through this historically preserved area gives me the sense of going back in time. In my imagination characters come to life, as I weave them into the rich historical fabric of the Civil War. My story begins right where I live, and I have walked every road and trail that my characters have walked."
Geraldine Lee Susi married Ronald A. Susi, a military pilot and elementary school teacher, on June 17, 1962. The couple has four children - Mark, Lori, Scot and Sheri Susi Nygaard.
