Capolino, Gerard-Andre was born on January 20, 1953 in Marseille, France. Son of Jules-Andre and Raymonde-Marie (Manzon) Capolino.
After getting my PhD, I did begin my academic carreer in Cameroon on behalf of the French Government being Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the National Polytechnic Engineering School in Yaoundé from 1978 to 1981. In 1981, I became Associate Professor with tenure at the University of Burgundy, Le Creusot, France up to 1994. I went out for two periods: 1983-1985 as a visiting Associate Professor at the University of Tunis, Tunisia and 1987-1989 being Scientific Advisor of the Technicatome company. From 1992 to 1994, I was research Professor at the Mediterranean Insitute of Technology. In 1994, I got a position of full Professor with tenure at the University of Picardie "Jules Verne", Amiens, France being the Dean of the School of Engineering from 1995 to 1998. I was appointed Chair Professor of Electrical Engineering in the same University in 2013.
