Background
Geronim Stroynovsky was born in Hodachkovo village ( Kremenets,Valyn, Ukraine).He started his career in 1782 in Vilnius University. G. Stroynovsky came from Warsaw where he had already studied political economy for 4 years. The political economy was one of four parts of his course "The science of natural and political law, political economy and people's rights". In 1785 the textbook was established and G. Stroynovsky started to read his course in Vilnius. He was the author of the first textbook on the political economy. The book was published five times (1785, 1791, twice in 1805, 1809). Stroynovsky used works of physiocrats and French economists while writing the textbook. It was the first textbook established on national language.
