Career
He is currently playing for Tartu Ülikool/Rock at the guard position. He is also related to basketball players Karl-Peeter, Erik and Martin Dorbek. Gert Dorbek started his basketball career with Tiit Sokk"s Basketball School in youth level and made his debut in KML with now-defunct club Nybit.
In 2008 he signed a contract with Ukrainian SuperLeague team Ferro-ZNTU. His span with the Ukrainian team lasted for 4 months, when the Zaporizhia-based team terminated his contract and he returned to Estonia, Tallinna Kalev until the end of the season.
He is a candidate of the national team for the EuroBasket 2013 qualification as of 2012.
