Giovanni III Crispo the "Strong", was the eighteenth Duke of the Archipelago, ruling from 1480-1494, when he was poisoned and murdered in Naxos, likely by unsavoury Venetian interests due to, protecting his sovereignty and duchy from Venice, in addition to; sucessfully protecting Salic law and Crispo family interests, against Venetian political interference, succeeded Giacomo III Crispo.
