She is the first Francophone woman to receive such an honour. She graduated from Université Laval (Bachelor and LLL) and Harvard University (Master of Laws). She was appointed Queen"s Counsel in 1987.
She is a Professor at the Faculty of Law, Université Laval, specializing in criminal law and human rights.
