Educated Conservatory of Music, Bologna. Pupil of Professor Martucci. Awarded degree of Music Master, Conservatory of Bologna, 1899.
Began as violinist, 1897. Conductor of opera, since 1904. Appeared in leading opera houses of Italy, including those of Naples, Palermo and Bologna, also in Barcelona and Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and Rio de Janeiro.
Came to the United States, 1907.
With Hammerstein Opera Company, New York and Philadelphia, until 1910. With Metropolitan Opera Company, 1913, and since 1927.
