1918-1924 co-founder, first rector, dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, and professor of political economics, Centr Asian University, Tashkent. 1924-1958 professor, Moscow Institute of Geodesy, Aerial Survey and Cartography, where he was in charge of compiling and editing maps and directed postgraduate training. During World War 2 acting director of this Institute after its transfer to Tashkent.
At various times worked for: Zoning Section, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics State Planning Committee. Power Engineer and Electrification Research Institute. Institute for the Organization(s) of Land Exploitation and Resettlement.

Council for the Study of Production Resources. Institute of Geography and Institute of Economy, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. From 1943 worked for part of the year at Institute of Economy, Uzbek Academy of Sciences.
Took part in expeditions to study development prospects of Khorezm, to organize rice sovkhozes in southeastern Kazakhstan, to harness Ili River, to develop agric in Tadzhikistan and to study economics potential of Kara Kum. Wrote textbooks on economics geography for cartographic and geodetic schools and teachers’ training institute Compiled soc and cultural maps.
