1894 graduate Kiev Military College.
After a brief military career retired from army. Worked as a civil servant, then as an actor. 1911 designed satchel parachute RK-1, which passed tests in 1912 but was rejected by military authorities.
1914 the RK-1 was accepted for Il’ya Muromets bombers. 1921-1924 improved design of parachute, developing marks RK-2 and RK-3, and designed supply parachutes.
