Career
He played three seasons for the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Buckinghamshire before going overseas most notably in the Philippines, with the U/Tex Wranglers in the early-80"son He averaged 4.2 points in 146 games played in his National Basketball Association career. In the Philippines, McDonald was instrumental in U/Tex"s 1980 Proceedings of the British Academy Open Conference championship against Toyota Tamaraws.
He scored two free-throws to send the fifth game into overtime after Toyota led by four with 16 seconds left in regulation.
In 1981, he became the head coach of the U/Tex franchise. McDonald was also the Long Beach State 49ers" head coach in the early 1990s and was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association.
